Patterns for Fresh and Fun Bagwear and Accessories

The Blue Jay - Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end........

As some of you may know, my first design - lovingly named the Cottonwood, was originally written and released a few years ago under different terms in order to make the PDF pattern available to you.  The initial agreement has LONG been fulfilled, & since our patterns are now all under the Lockwood & Webb Designs name, it only makes sense that it should be as well.  So with that being said, may we introduce to you the new Blue Jay Crossbody!!!

The pattern has been updated to now be written and illustrated in the same style and format as all our other patterns.  We have made a few changes to the pattern pieces and rewritten the instructions to reflect how we personally make this fabulous design, thus making it easier for you to use other textiles such as vinyl and leather.

For those who are seeing her for the first time, we hope you love her as much as we do!  She's like the little sister to our Hummingbird.  The distinct differences are the Blue Jay has a round bottom and magnetic closure, and the Hummingbird is a boxed bottom bag with a zippered closure. Although these differences don't seem like much, they really do change the look of the bag.  Some people just prefer one shape over the other.

If you purchased the original version directly from Gwen via either her GML Designs Etsy or Craftsy store, and would like the updated Blue Jay, please contact us at lockwoodandwebb@gmail.com (with your proof of purchase information from either of her web stores) and we will happily send you a copy.

We hope you will love our newest release and we look forward to seeing many Blue Jay's out in the sewing world.

In the meantime please enjoy these beautiful Blue Jay's made by our testers!

Here we have a gorgeous Tiffany blue leather version from Larry Schild of Schildcraft.  Larry chose to make our regular size & we have been told that his lovely wife has already claimed it as HER'S!!!
Chrystal Phelps Read of Windy Acres Creations made her Blue Jay in the very popular Geo fabric along with two coordinating leathers - absolutely stunning!
Lisa Jane Campbell made hers from Glitter Vinyl and a cute fun cotton in the Grande size! She says that now she has the perfect size bag for her
XL NCW wallet.
Sue Reed of Dreamscape Studio also chose to make the regular size & added her signature embroidery design to her faux leather version.  Love her added Little Robin accessory holder!
Check out Cindy's version from Sweet Tea & Stitches, again a regular size but this time in raspberry and peach lambskin with handwoven on the
exterior pockets!
Larke Kenke chose a beautiful aboriginal design to pair with her cork & made a matching cork Little Robin!  Fabulous set Larke!
Joy Morgan of Sew Joyful used a fun cat print with her purple vinyl Blue Jay & Little Robin set
Di Scarrott of Bags of Love by Diane made this stunning embroidered Tall version in pink and black cork.  Di's now torn between using her Blue Jay or her Hummingbird as she loves both of them!
Susan Hewitt of The Farmer wants a Wife performed her magic once again using Harris Tweed in a wonderful shade of blue.  It makes quite the statement don't you think?

Thank you again to our wonderful testers. Stay healthy everyone during these uncertain times.  Keep sewing, keep smiling & let's get through this together.

Gwen & Natell
